Program Director Application
Director: Monday through Friday, hours vary (education background and experience required). All summer availability is preferred. We are looking for a leader who is a hard worker and big heart for interacting with children and their families. Directors lead spiritual growth both in counselors and campers, monitor all camp activities, supervise staff, handle camper check in and check out, facilitate carpool, and more. The director handles weekly scheduling and group assignments for campers and staff. The director ensures the safety and well being of the campus throughout the summer.
Program Director: Monday to Friday: 7:15am – 4pm (age 18+). Camp experience and/or education experience preferred. All summer availability is preferred. The program director position leads daily assemblies and games at camp. They set up and take down ropes course equipment, and supervise the ropes course daily activities. They also assist with drop off and carpool, and set up materials for the daily program of camp. The program director works closely with the director of the campus to ensures smooth programming at their campus.
Adventure Lead with Curriculum Emphasis: Hickory Flat Location Only: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (age 18+). Camp experience and/or education experience preferred. All summer availability is preferred. This lead counselor position serves and supervises counselors and junior counselors, and they report to the program director. This position is required to set up, take down, and facilitate the ropes course during the day. Additionally, this position will set up and clean up materials for Bible curriculum time. They will introduce the curriculum material during morning assembly each morning and guide groups through the curriculum rotation. This lead position will lead groups of campers as small as ten campers and as large as the entire camp of approximately one hundred twenty campers and counselors. Additionally, this position will promote spiritual growth in the staff by leading a small group of counselors one day a week and attending a small group of their own one day a week.
Adventure Lead with Camp Emphasis: Hickory Flat Location Only: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (age 18+). Camp experience and/or education experience preferred. All summer availability is preferred. This lead counselor position serves and supervises counselors and junior counselors, and they report to the program director. This position is required to set up, take down, and facilitate the ropes course during the day. Additionally, this position will lead age based camp adventure activities (such as how to set up a tent, how to tie knots, etc.) with groups of campers during the adventure rotation. Occasionally, adventure leads will lead camp-wide activities of around one hundred twenty people with campers and their counselors. Additionally, this position will promote spiritual growth in the staff by leading a small group of counselors one day a week and attending a small group of their own one day a week.
Adventure Lead with Games Emphasis: Hickory Flat Location Only: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (age 18+). Camp experience and/or education experience preferred. All summer availability is preferred. This lead counselor position serves and supervises counselors and junior counselors, and they report to the program director. This position is required to set up, take down, and facilitate the ropes course during the day. Additionally, this lead position is required to create and facilitate games and activities during each games rotation during the camp day. This lead position will regularly lead groups of fifty campers and counselors. Occasionally, games leads will lead camp-wide activities of around one hundred twenty people with campers and their counselors. Additionally, this position will promote spiritual growth in the staff by leading a small group of counselors one day a week and attending a small group of their own one day a week.
Adventure Lead with Photography Emphasis: Hickory Flat Location Only: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (age 18+). Camp experience and/or education experience preferred. All summer availability is preferred. This lead counselor position serves and supervises counselors and junior counselors, and they report to the program director. This position is required to set up, take down, and facilitate the ropes course during the day. Additionally, this lead position is required to take pictures of the different camp activities and create an end of the week slideshow for both campuses. This position also requires regular posting on social media pages and creation of camp promotion material. Additionally, this position will promote spiritual growth in the staff by leading a small group of counselors one day a week and attending a small group of their own one day a week.
Arts/Crafts Lead: Monday to Thursday, 9:30am-3pm (age 18+) Arts/Crafts lead is a leadership counselor position that involves planning, preparing, and creating craft projects for campers. This position may lead groups of up to thirty campers at one time with their counselors.
Counselor: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (age 17+) Counselors lead groups of up to eight campers at one time through scheduled camp activities throughout the day. Some of these activities include facilitation of the zip line, belaying campers at the rock wall, participating in art and games, teaching curriculum, and more. Counselors must be comfortable teaching a daily bible curriculum provided to them. Counselors must also pass a ropes course facilitation training program to be hired on staff.
Junior Counselor: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (16+) Junior counselors assist with multiple day to day activities. They help counselors with day to day group activities, monitor children during morning drop off and afternoon pick up, help set up for parent assembly, and more.
Post Camp Counselor: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm-6pm (16+) Post camp counselors supervise children after camp hours. Post camp counselors will lead games and remain engaged with campers during their time after camp.
Post Camp Lead: Monday to Friday 2:30pm-6pm (18+) Post Camp Lead will transition campers into post camp activities. They will supervise campers after camp hours, interact with parents during pick up, and monitor post camp activities. Post camp lead will also come in early before post camp to set up all supplies needed for the day and clean up activities at the end of post camp with the other counselors.
